The VLITEX fire protection hood is designed to slow down and limit the spread of a Li-ion battery fire. It is not intended to fully extinguish such a fire.
If the battery burns, explosions can occur, depending on the charge level, capacity, and cell type of the battery. These explosions can damage the fire protection hood and thus impair its fire containment effect.

The fire containment blanket makes the crucial difference. It is made from a high-performance fabric that is also used in electric vehicle fires and meets the testing requirements of DIN SPEC 91489. The specially developed material reliably keeps flames and heat under the hood and prevents the spread of fire.
